Ck's take on why he likes Bloomberg Television
The stock market is not really my cup of tea. I burnt my fingers way too often and lost money in what was meant a safe investment. However, I do want to understand how the economy works and what effects it does have on our lifes. After all, I did major in Economics at College...
One of the lessons I learned about how the economy works, is that a lot of business advantage is established by having access to more information than the other players in the market. If you know exactly how to produce something, if you possess certain knowledge about a market, consumer behaviour or a certain commodity, you are in a superior position. And, most importantly, you can profit from that privileged information.
Now, this is where Bloomberg Television comes in very handy: you get the best, advanced and most solid information any TV channel - or even news organisation, at large, can provide. Bloomberg Television has one big advantage over all the other TV news channel: it is backed by probably the strongest and most advanced news gathering organisation in the world. Of course, this excludes the various secret service entities that more or less successfully gather privileged information, too.
Bloomberg is a data collection and information company. They have thousands of people all over the world to collect and sort economic data. And via Bloomberg Television this data becomes available to you. You can be sure that the data and information is solid, that it has a real source and that it is facts. It will enable you to see what is happening in the world of economics and business - and it will also put you in a privileged position: because you are in the know now, too.
And, the information and data is delivered to you in a no-nonsense style but still entertaining. Bloomberg Television has been relaunched last year with a fresh design and some new programming. It is fun watching the channel and being educated in that manner. And, I know by watching the channel, that I get always a step advance in my knowledge and can truly be an informed customer and "homo economicus". And maybe also, one day, with that profound knowledge and insight in my back, I invest in the stock market more wisely.
This is how Ck takes it.
